For my birthday, I purchased a Canon S5 IS. I am very much an amateur with a love of photography, and after several very happy years spent taking photos with my trusty little Canon PowerShot A60 (another birthday gift!) I was beginning to grow a little frustrated with the limitations of that camera, though it served me extremely well and was a faithful companion for all the years I used it. I was ready to move up into the next level of camera, and after much research I chose the S5. It was no contest, really - the S5 is an incredible camera. Since the S5 is in a totally different realm than the A60, I started again from scratch and the first thing I was concerned about was the fact that the lens had no protection. I was positive that due to the combination of my inexpertise and rather accident-prone nature I would end up accidentally jamming the barrel and/or scratching the lens and ruining my beautiful new camera, which I treat as though it's made out of the finest spun glass (because if I didnt, I'd break it in five minutes). Through reading around and reviews, including the helpful folks who review cameras and camera equipment here at Amazon.com, I discovered what lens adapters were for and that many, many people use a lens adapter in combination with a UV filter to protect their lenses. I was delighted to have found such a great solution so quickly and purchased this adapter and a UV lens to go with it on the same day I purchased the S5. This adapter fits perfectly on my S5 and is very sturdy. It has the barest bit of a wiggle, which has caused no problems whatsoever, and does not jiggle loose, rattle around or come off or offer any kind of difficulty at all. It's lightweight aluminum, not plastic, and looks as though it came with the camera itself. The UV filter and new lens cap I purchased fit onto the adapter with no trouble. The adapter extends to just beyond the range of the lens barrel and the adapter and UV filter completely protect my lens and barrel so that I dont have to worry about accidentally switching it on while it's in my camera bag and burning out the motor. I never have to worry about the lens cap popping off (the new cap I bought snaps on very nicely and securely). This little adapter, along with the UV filter, gives me peace of mind that I would have been willing to pay a lot more for, for less than $20 total. I still have an enormous amount of learning to do but this adapter makes it much easier to use my new camera without having to worry about damaging the most sensitive parts of it. I am probably going to go ahead and buy another one of these, as well as another UV lens, just to have amongst my equipment on the off chance I need it someday. Well worth the price, and it tricks out my camera enough so that it makes me look like I actually know what I'm doing! :D

This product does not work for the powershot g9. The plug which is not an angle will not allow you to close the battery compartment and therefore does not work. You need to buy another part that which fits into the camera and allows you to connect the adaptor to it. That is only available from Canon for 24.09 includes shipping. I bought that part and then found out that it still did not work. This should not be listed for the powershot g9. This cost me forty dollars for nothing. T

I wasn't sure of how good this kit would be... I guess I was a little skeptical about the purchase because it was the first time I had made a purchase of camera accessory kit! This is my sixth Canon PowerShot, although they have a few downfalls they are the perfect camera for my/our life style. The PowerShot line of cameras fit in a pocket allowing them to be easily carried while riding motorcycles and ATVs (try doing that with some of the other point and shoot cameras or with an SLR camera). Now as for the camera itself: Battery life is excellent. LCD screen good size. View finder--other camera manufactures should consider using one. Memory cards: the SD cards are a dime a dozen, the problem is finding the high volume MMC cards which are better and faster. Shutter lag, what can I say almost all point and shoot cameras have this problem with the exception of the Powershoot 600. The IS is great. Zoom, although the digital zoom has increased in quality over the past few years, Canon may want to consider increasing the optical zoom a little bit more. Would I buy another PowerShot? You bet I will.

I have been so hesitant in getting this marine case, after hearing a lot of bad reviews about its predecessors (casings for the g7 and g9) from fellow divers like myself. They claim that Canon makes bad cases, and that they haven't perfected it yet. Taking into consideration that the G10 is a pretty pricey camera, I was so adamant about purchasing the casing lest my g10 gets soaked. However the options are waaay too pricey for me. They even cost more than the camera itself. And so I took a chance and bought it, assuring myself that I've used about 3 Canon-made housings in the past and they we're very well-built. I took it diving with me, the deepest at 100 feet, and it never gave me problems. If you are to take it diving, I suggest that you bring down the casing first, without the camera, and put a sheet of tissue in the casing. If the tissue gets wet, then something must be wrong with how you sealed it, and check the o-ring again. I strongly suggest that you search the web for o-ring maintenance tips and follow it diligently. And keep it from impact. Make sure you wrap it in cloth or something to cushion it against blows or scratches. I guess those that had so-called problems with their casings didn't handle the o-rings properly, or maybe they banged their casings somehow. I just gave it 4 stars because there's no way that you can manipulate the control dial. The solution would be to create custom settings. Go get it, take good care of it, and spend the rest of the money on a decent strobe.

I have already posted some photos on Flickr and have received some pretty positive reviews. Why I like the camera for travel because: 1. It uses AA batteries, I use rechargables. 2. The camera has a view finder which is very helpful when you are outside with the sun behind you. 3. Technology is very advanced. Does a great job finding faces and managing focus. 4. Tripod mount. 5. And I think the best price on the market for the technology and megs (10mps). 6. It's easy moving the photos to the computer.

Customer Review: Was great, but then E18.
My wife and I were very happy with our Powershot A520 for the year and a half that we had it. However, the camera died with an E18 error during our friend's wedding, and it has not worked since. A quick web search for "Canon E18" or even "E18" will show you that this is a common error (with a number of different Canon models). We have never dropped it or abused it in any way, and it has spent most of its life in its protective case. While the camera seemed to be great before the moment it died, I would not buy this camera again. Do not get this camera if you don't want to have to replace it in 18 months like so many other users.
Customer Review: Still Working After All These Years
This camera has worked like a dream since I purchased it a couple of years ago. The picture quality is unequaled in its class, and the battery life is quite long when using lithium batteries. In fact, I have been able to take many professional-looking photos and order enlargements up to 8x10 without any pixels appearing. At the current "used" prices, this camera is a steal. It's hard to find anything negative to say about the Canon Powershot A520: I did crack the LCD screen, but was able to replace it myself by ordering a new screen directly from Canon. Compared to more recent cameras, this one is a little bulky--it won't fit in your jean pockets, but will fit easily into your coat pocket or purse.

Works fine in my Canon SD1100 IS - seems to last just as long as the real Canon unit but I haven't done an in depth comparison... Can't beat it for the price compared to the Canon unit(I paid $1.92 - now it is even cheaper!!)...

I have used this battery with no problems. I use it frequently, swapping it our with the original. I can tell no difference in the two. I did have to use a sharpie to draw on the arrow. For the price it rocks.

Customer Review: battery for canon sd400
Though the spec syas that this works for an SD400 camera, it does not! We have charged it completely, and have tried it but it seems the contacts are smaller or something and therefore does not work! We have tried this several times thinking that this may be our mistake, but to no avail. Has anyone else used this for SD400 ? When I compare this battery to the original one I got with the camera, the metal contacts seem smaller - maybe that's the problem.

My husband and I were looking for some spare batteries for our cameras. They both take the same type of battery, and when we started looking around for spare batteries our jaws dropped at how expensive they were. I thought, "Hey, let's check on Amazon." I was shocked at how affordable these were, and kind of questioned whether they'd actually work since they were priced so much darned lower! They fit our cameras perfectly well and work like a charm! As for the seller, great customer service and excellent to deal with!
